Bear type - fictional Year - 1996 Face value - 80c Description - Tommie [from Sesame Street issue] Scott # - 942 (from 941-942 set) Stanley Gibbons # - 1813 (from 1812-1813 set) Michel # - 1589 (from 1588-1589 set) NOTE: this issue has come under debate. Amy from the Netherlands emailed me to let me know that Tommie is actually a dog, not a bear, and that she confirmed this with the Sesame Street "Brand Coordinator" in the Netherlands. I checked the Sesame Street site in the US, which says, "Tommie is a teddy bear/dog character". Well, that certainly clears it up! I agree with Amy that this is not a bear issue, but I'm going to leave this issue on the list so I don't get email from people who think it is a bear simply because their catalogs say so. Collectors should use their own judgment on this issue. |
